LONDON!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't written in quite a while, but I will try to write more from now on. I was without internet for a while, and then I got sick, and then I just forgot. But a few days ago one of the three people who read my little insignificant blog noticed I haven't posted anything in a long time, and so I promised I would write. I am keeping my promise, a little late, I know, but I am keeping it. And for mexican standards, this is pretty punctual. Jenny, I am writing in english for you honey, and I will do this often so that you can read me!

I am very excited to say that today it became final that I am going to London in January!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOHOO!!! I am going with Davo, and I will be with him for about a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am also dying for this stupid semester to end. I dont know how it will end, but I long having it behind me, in the past. I need a miracle for it to end well, hopefully it will occur. I will do my part and work hard, but a little luck wouldn't hurt!

No basta con tirarla, hay que separarla

Hoy he decidido que en mi casa vamos a separar la basura. Desde hace mucho tiempo lo he pensado, pero NO he hecho nada al respecto. Creo que empezaré con algo sencillo como Orgánico e Inorgánico, pero con la mira en separar de adeveras (separar los plásticos de los papeles de los residuos orgánicos, de las latas, etc). Me preocupa mucho el problema de la basura porque va a llegar un momento, si no es que ya está llegando, en que la basura nos rebasa. Además, tirar todo es un desperdicio enorme. Hay muchas cosas que tiramos que se pueden reciclar o volver a usar. Tenemos que volvernos consumidores con conciencia y cuidar más de qué manera consumimos, y cómo nos deshacemos de nuestros residuos. No solo es la basura que vemos. En la manufactura de todos los productos hay residuos involucrados, recursos energéticos invertidos, y mucho más de lo que podemos darnos cuenta.

Esta foto la tomé prestada de la página web de una bióloga de la UNAM. En muchos lugares (como CU por ejemplo) se estan haciendo esfuerzos por separar la basura (porque de hecho ya hay una LEY en el DF la Ley de residuos sólidos, vigente desde el 2004 que nos obliga a separar la basura). Lo triste es que como se ve en la foto, a nadie le importa (tal vez sería bueno que el bote para los inorgánicos fuera un poco más grande). Vamos a separar la basura antes de que nademos en ella!

Todas estas fotos las tomé en el Museo de Culturas Populares en Coyacán, en donde cada año tienen ofrendas y venden cosas típicas para el 2 de noviembre. Las ofrendas que ponen generalmente representan las tradiciones de distintos lugares del país. Siempre lo hacen muy bien. Procuro ir siempre a ver sus ofrendas.

Día de muertos

Ya sé que esta entrada llega un poco tarde porque el Día de Muertos fue el 2 de noviembre. Pero hoy fui a unas ofrendas en coyoacán, y aqui presento algunas imagenes de lo que vi. No dejan de impresionarme las ofrendas, me paracen algo increible.

I just found this picture in Jenny's online photos, and I remember this moment perfectly. I love how the picture turned out. Being a Bridesmaid at this wedding was SO MUCH FUN!! Just being there was amazing. There is one thing that I regret about the wedding and that is that I didn't make a little speach (lucky for you JO!). At the moment it felt out of place, since it was just the Bestman, and Maid of Honor speaking, but now I think it would have been ok. I think I should have said something since I was the only family member in the bride's crew.

We went through SO MUCH together!! COUSINHOOD!! Midnight snack, camp, fighting over Brian Foster (who didn't like either of us), Tebeau, Donner, barbies, trolls (because we grew out of barbies), running away (not really going anywhere) being there for eachother even if we have always been worlds apart, sharing the role of the little mermaid... this could go on forever. It was such a special day, and such a happy occasion for a Kalman gathering.

La física es muy difícil.

Si yo entendiera la Física, creo que me gustaría mucho. Particularmente el ELECTROMAGNETISMO.

(para los meticulosos sé que esta ley de Maxwell está incompleta, pero no cabía el resto, así que tómenlo como un caso particular, va?)
